Leading a group to make a difference

I just joined this and realized how neat it is to connect with others that hopefully similar. I have been trying to help others in poverty for years now with a group but they don't seem to have any motivation. It's like all they're interested in is video games. I don't know if its just me, or if the poverty isn't close enough for them to see the situation. Are most teenagers this way? Do I need to just start on my own without these video game freaks?

Same
I have just begun to relise the shocking state of the world, yet not many people around me seem to be as affected by it all as i am, they seem more concerned with what is happening in their own lives. I to have started a group, within my school which will hopefully make more people realise that there are things we can do to help people not only in our own lives, but also in our community, our country and the world.
